After update of Confluence to v.8.5.3 and updating graphviz to 2.44.1-1.el8 macro fails to render

Description

Tested the install of PlantUML plugin and upgrade of graphviz in my Staging and Dev instances, which work correctly and do render the page correctly after copying the original page from my Production instance. How to troubleshoot this further to fix my Prod instance?

Updated graphviz per info: https://plantuml.com/faq#eps

Using RPMs from here: https://www2.graphviz.org/Packages/stable/centos/8/os/x86_64/

Environment

RHEL 8, Confluence v8.5.3 - will be v.8.5.4 later in the week. graphviz 2.44.1-1.el8

good news and bad news.

Bad news, this issue is/was related to either v.8.5.3 update and possibly this Atlassian KB.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/getting-error-struts-multipart-savedir-property-has-not-been-defined-when-exporting-to-pdf-after-confluence-upgrade-1289420943.html

Good news: After upgrade to v.8.5.4 with the above configuration fix. All my known issues with viewing PDFs and PlantUML macros are working now.

Now I’ve got to go back and fix my Stage and Dev confluence instances

added your request to one of our test pages in Prod.

I also get an error in the add macro popup window, it doesn’t matter which of the macros I use this one or the render macro.

In stage and dev instances, the dot macro shows a stick figure of a man.

not that I know of, I’ll verify after lunch

Do you pass the JVM argument -XX:-OmitStackTraceInFastThrow to the Confluence process()?

Can add the following macro to a sample page and send me the output:

→ plantuml macro with the body “testdot”.
